I am writing this letter because I have so many Jewish friends, those are wonderfully humane people as are most of my Muslim friends and others. As you all know that I am Sikh from India, where after sixty years, my family still talks about the over a million people massacred on both sides, Sikhs and Muslims during the partition of the Panjab. There has been several wars between India and Pakistan, those all fought on Panjabi soil. On the other hand, Sikhs have no neighborly dispute with Israel.

Many people all over the world positively hope and intensely imagine that this magical time will make this world a better place to live.

Even the ‘Sunday’ a supposed to be religious program does not want to left behind in condemning the Chinese human rights record and inspiring others how to disrupt the games. What an opportunistic move?

Thanks to New Statesman for commissioning special features for the issue. India has many problems, just name the few:

When successful artist is one who can make headlines in the media by creating something totally controversial, and not necessarily a good work of art.

We have seen that over last decade we have been living in a ‘one-party one-opinion world.

The US and its allies have gone bezerk at a pace that it knows no boundaries. Iraqi invasion is just the most visible act, there are scores other going on all the time.

I am totally disgusted by the blinkered media coverage of any issue that goes against the Government policy, though it is proclaimed that Western media is free and independent.

Yes, sure. Not for the world or the world history, but only for America and particularly for Francis *censored*uyama, part of the US government policy planning team (Analysis, November 4). This thesis says more about American thinking and the American view of the world than anything else.
